Scores of foreigners for the Super Eight games at
the National Stadium on Mainland Grenada have been
staying and fully enjoying the distinct unique
attributes that this island is Globally renowned
for.
Visitors from all of the Nations playing on the
mainland have been staying or visiting and have
been going around the island enjoying the warmth
of the inhabitants, majestic scenery, culture and
historical sites.
This has been representing brisk business for
some hotels and Guest houses, taxi drivers, shops
and the like.
Several of the visitors got a chance to
experience last weekends Maroon Festival and
launch of the regatta festival.
They have been visiting on the off days and
on Tuesday there was again another large number
who came wearing some piece of item to clearly
demonstrate the team which they are supporting.
These Australians from Perth, who included, Possum
Jolley, David Hackett, Shawn McGrath, Michaela
Jennings, Brendan Kealy and Shane McClure were
caught catching up on the News from the Grenada
INFORMER while sipping a Beer at the Anchor Bar
in Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon.
They described the Caribbean and this country in
particular as the best place on earth.
They stated that they are disappointed with the
performance of the West Indies and recalled the
Windies domination of Australia in the 1970s
,1980s and early 1990s.
They also spoke of the speed and bounce the West
Indies pace quartet once extracted from the fast
Waga Ground which was a fear for the
Australian batsmen.
